Hunger by Michael Grant

I LOVE to read! I like all types of books. Papaw Ellis is my mystery book buddy. I think he has borrowed all of my James Patterson books. Alex is my supernatural book buddy. We share an obsession with The Twilight Saga and The Vampire Academy Series. I'm going to get her hooked on The Mortal Instruments Series, too.

I'm currently reading the second book in the Gone Series by Michael Grant entitled, Hunger.

This series is about a town where all the adults and kids over the age of 15 disappear. Some of the kids and animals left behind begin to mutate. They find out that they are trapped inside a bubble that burns when touched. It's like Lord of the Flies with mutant abilities, but no hope of rescue.  There's also a struggle for power in the void left by the adults.

I've read this book before, but the newest book in the series, Lies, just came out and I'm rereading through the series. I always do this when a new book in a series comes out so my memory if fresh. This means I tend to read the same books over and over.

More and more often, I tend to exclusively read Young Adult novels.  They don't lean nearly as heavily on sex or language.  I just don't think cussing and and explicit scenes are necessary for a quality read.
