The More I Drink--Blake Shelton

Tristan has had a rough couple of weeks. About 10 minutes after he eats he gets horribly painful gas and screams and cries for at least half an hour. I cut out dairy, chocolate, peanuts and broccoli, my pain medication from my c-section and my allergy medication. Instead of any positive reactions, on Saturday and Sunday he had diarrhea. I finally called the doctor and she told us to bring him in today. She said it sounds like he's allergic to something in my diet and there should have been some improvement even though it can take up to two weeks for the offending food to get totally out of my system.
She wants us to try Tristan on Nutramigen, a formula for sensitive babies. As much as I hate to put him on formula, I hate his hours of pain more. He has had 4 bottle feeds and so far, not pain. I hope this isn't a fluke because I couldn't stand for his pain to come back.

I'm Little But I'm Loud--Little Jimmy Dickens

Tristan is here! He was born on February 9, 2010.

After 18 hours of labor, he was delivered at 9:45am, by c-section. His lung collapsed when he was delivered, and he was whisked to the sick nursery at St. Mary's. They put him under a bubble that gave him oxygen.

He also had to wear a cpap mask for a while, but he fought it SO hard. You can see the IV in his hand. The IV was the worst part. He tried to pull it out for days. The last night they moved the IV to his head because he had pulled it so hard it leaked.

He's such a good baby. The only time he cries is when his stomach bothers him, which seems to be more frequent : (. I stopped eating dairy to hopefully help his stomach, but it's been since Wednesday and there has been no effect. If anything, it is getting worse. He cries and screams and stretches as hard as he can, but there's no relief until he gets it out.

Regardless, he's our angel.
